Paid Usability Testing for Families and Adults
Panelpolls members are invited to participate in paid usability testing. Interact with real products, prototypes, or digital experiences and share your feedback to help shape intuitive, user-friendly designs. Earn e-gift card rewards for your time.

What Is Paid Usability Testing?
Paid usability testing is a research activity where you test a website, app, product, or digital tool to help organizations understand how easy it is to use.
During usability testing, you’ll complete specific tasks while sharing your thoughts out loud. Researchers observe how you navigate, what you notice, where you get stuck, and what feels intuitive or confusing.
Unlike general interviews that focus on opinions, usability testing focuses on real interaction. The goal is to evaluate functionality, clarity, and overall user experience.
Usability testing is commonly used to explore:
- Website or app navigation
- Feature functionality and ease of use
- Sign-up or checkout processes
- Product workflows
- Clarity of messaging, labels, or instructions
Sessions typically last between 30 and 90 minutes and are most often conducted virtually, though some may take place in person.
What to Expect
If you’re selected for usability testing, here’s what the experience usually looks like:
- A scheduled session at a specific date and time
- A one-on-one session with a trained research professional
- Guided tasks to complete using a website, app, prototype, or device
- A request to “think out loud” as you move through tasks
- Screen sharing (for virtual sessions) so researchers can observe your experience
- Follow-up questions about what felt easy or challenging
There are no right or wrong answers. Researchers are testing the product, not you.
Clear instructions are provided in advance, so you know how to join and what technology is required.
Incentives for Usability Testing
Participants who complete a usability testing session typically earn $50–$100+ per test as a thank-you for their time and detailed feedback.
Incentives vary and are typically based on:
- Length of the session
- Any pre-session assignments or homework needed
- Whether the session is virtual or in person
After completing the session, you’ll receive a reward link that can be redeemed for an eGift card.
